Top 20 for the team in Scotland

01 juin 2014

Rémy Absalon and Thomas Lapeyrie were in Scotland this weekend, where the second round of the Enduro World Series took place.
It was an epic race: long, hard and challenging. 90kms to ride in 2 race days with more than 3000m climbing. Our riders had to train on the different stages from Wednesday to Friday and needed to find a good balance between training and rest.
They could enjoy the Scottish weather during the training and play with the very slippery roots. Thankfully, the sun came back for the race allowing them to find more grip.

The first race day was quite good for Rémy and Thomas. They finished in the top 10 after the 4 woody stages. It was a very long day with more than 50km and the stages were very tecnhical and narrow.
The second day was more physical with long pedalling parts during the stages and left nothing to chance. Gradually, our 2 pilots showed signs of tiredness maybe because of the long training days before. Moreover, they had to fight with Scottish riders really strong on their trails. Rémy and Thomas achieved respectively the 15th and 19th place. They were disappointed but fought until the end.

"I really enjoyed this type of single tracks. It was great fun to ride but hard to go fast: it was narrow and I had difficulties remaining competitive." said Rémy Absalon

Finally, Nicolas Lau won the race. He was very versatile and resisted to a Justin Leov very fit and a Joe Barnes very motivated on his trails.
