EWS on the slopes of Mt Blanc

12 juillet 2014

Rémy showed again his good consistency on every kind of tracks in spite of his lack of shape and takes the 14th place in La Thuile.
All best enduro riders met this weekend at the foot of the Mont Blanc, in La Thuile -Italy. Superenduro staff took care of everything shifting this alpine ski resort into a perfect stop for the 4th EWS.
Competition was hard with more than 1000 meters of climbing on pedals, distributed over 2 days and 6 special stages for more than 35km. Uplifts were on both lifts (65%) and pedalled (35%).

Saturday were a good mix with a physical & long stage (sp1 - 7,55km - D821m), a short & wild one (sp2 - 2,7km - D568m) and an intensive run with repetition of short climbs (sp3 - 5,9km - D906m).
In spite of a crash, Rémy ended the day at the 10th place.
Thomas Lapeyrie was not in a good shape and with a fall, he took the 33th position.
The Junior race did not take into account the saturday stages.

On Sunday, pilots ran the stage 1 one again, followed by 2 stages of 5 and 6 km (D900m both). Unfortunately, Rémy missed power in the first one and lost precious seconds. After good times in the 2 last runs, Rémy finished 14th. Thanks to his consistency, he stays in the top 10 of the overall ranking of the EWS.
Thomas Lapeyrie felt better than Saturday and moved back up to the 28th position.
Finally, Elliot Trabac crashed during the 2nd stage while he was 2nd junior just behind Sébastien Claquin. Unluckily, he hurt his elbow.

"Unfortunately, it is still hard physically, but stages were very nice with flow. I could push hard on the downhill sections and have lots of fun on my Genius LT" said Rémy
